6 Things Cats Just Don’t Understand

January 15, 2018
Did you know that January 22nd is Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day? Fluffy is quite curious, so, given the chance, she may very well spend most of the day asking you about one thing after another. But what do you think your feline pal’s most pressing questions would be? A Savannah, GA vet offers some possible suggestions below.

Gravity

Has your kitty ever tried to nail a tricky jump and completely missed? Does Fluffy sometimes roll off the couch or bed she’s sleeping on? Kitties can be very graceful, but our feline friends aren’t always as acrobatic as they seem to think!

Privacy

Cats are rather nosy, and often like to follow their humans around from room to room. Fluffy has even been known to follow her humans into the bathroom, or stare at them as they are changing. Kitties really seem to have no grasp on the concept of privacy!

Dogs

Man’s Best Friend has many wonderful traits . . . none of which make much sense to Fluffy. Fido actually enjoys belly rubs and car rides, hates baths, and is really too enthusiastic about, well, pretty much everything.

Etiquette

Does your cat sometimes beg for attention, only to suddenly change her mind, bite your hand, and walk away with her little nose up in the air? Does your feline pal like to cuddle . . . but refuse to jump onto your lap when you are relaxing in your favorite chair? Fluffy has also been known to cry to be let out right meow, only to walk away when you open the door. Our furry little overlords really don’t understand manners at all! (Note: we recommend keeping cats inside, as they are safer and healthier as indoor pets.)

Personal Space

Have you ever woken up to find your cat sleeping on your pillow, perhaps with her tail in your face? Does Fluffy immediately jump into your chair when you get up? Cats don’t understand personal space any more than they understand privacy or etiquette!

Us

Coming to see us is definitely in Fluffy’s best interests. However, our feline patients really don’t understand veterinary appointments. Between the cat carrier, the car ride, and the exam room, kitties are often quite perplexed by the process! Please contact us, your Savannah, GA pet hospital, for all your cat’s veterinary care needs. We’re here to help!
